Over the Himalayas (October 2016) - “Sunlight streamed through grumbling storm clouds that played like tiger kittens around the mountain ridges.” ― Jane Wilson-Howarth, A Glimpse of Eternal Snows: A Journey of Love and Loss in the Himalayas

A disappearance

An erasure
An automatic delation
Under
The indifferent eye
Of a sweeping wind

An echo
Meticulously
Mis-pronouncing your name
A voluntary omission
An invisible excecution

The syllables
Only two

The sounds
The intonations
Welcoming your Birth
Your first breath

Crushed
Withering flowers
Washed away
Silenced
Transfigured
Veiled

Muted

So much
Loved

A cry
Becoming a murmur
In a deserted place
A sentence
Forced into a word
A muttering confusion

A storm
Mastered

Docile dove
With failing wings
Untouched by winter's snow

No blinding coloured flashing lights
No baby's babbling
No bells ringing
No song wrapped with joyful smiles
No peaceful gathering warmth

Just a hush
Rooted in a belly's storm
Falling asleep
in a night
Of questions
